Jane Westberg

I
feel privileged to have interviewed the scores of amazing
health professionals who are featured on this website.
My career has been devoted to trying to improve health care
by educating competent, culturally-sensitive health
professionals. Most of my efforts have been in faculty
development and curriculum reform. My husband, Hilliard
Jason, MD, EdD, and I have consulted with and conducted
workshops, nationally and internationally, for thousands of
educators in the health professions. We have written 7
books and many articles on the subject.
I am currently a clinical professor of family medicine at
the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine. I
have also served on the faculties of the University of
Miami School of Medicine and George Washington University
School of Medicine and Health. I am an associate editor
of
Education for Health, the journal
of The Network: TUFH - an
international organization devoted to improving health
care through such strategies as community-oriented
health professions education. I am also a regular
contributor to Winds of Change, an
American Indian-published and nationally distributed
magazine with a focus on career and educational
advancement for Native people.
